Teachers: Keep Kids Fit & Active During the Winter

Winter Trails offer teachers/educators a great field trip opportunity to introduce the sports of snowshoeing and cross country skiing to a new generation of school children for FREE. Winter Trails 2010, which is entering its 15th year, is set for January 9, 2010.

This section highlights ways educators are bringing these sports into the classroom. Get started now to plan your activities for the upcoming season and introduce your kids to the great sports of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

If you're a teacher or recreation professional, make sure to check out the WFG Learn-a-Sport Tool Kit. It is a resource for anyone who is introducing elementary-age children to snow sports (cross-country & alpine skiing, snowshoeing and snowboarding) and includes: interactive learning tools, follow-along lesson plans, extensive lesson plans, informative flyers for parents, videos, and posters.
