Program:  If using Google maps or Mapquest to locate the park, be aware that is marked incorrectly on these sites and on car navigation maps. Please search for the town of Sinnemahoning, PA (15861) and travel an additional 8 miles north on Route 872, or
 for Austin, PA (16720) and travel 18 miles south on Rt. 872.
 
Program Name – A Winter Walk
 
Bring the family for a walk through the quiet winter woods of Sinnemahoning State Park. Search for tracks and other signs of animal activity, and learn about the adaptations that allow plants and animals to survive the harsh winter conditions. Meet at the 40 Maples Day-Use Area. Program:

 Celebrate Winter Trails Day at Jennings Environmental Education Center.  Two snowshoeing programs will be conducted during the day.  A morning session from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. will be repeated in the afternoon from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Each session will include the history of snowshoes, a complete introduction to the sport and a winter activity hike.  Equipment will be provided, although personal equipment is welcomed.  To occupy the little ones (children under 8 years old), staff will be available to conduct winter activities and crafts in concurrence with each session.  Registration is required.  Please register for either the morning or the afternoon session by contacting the Center at 724-794-6011 or online at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/calendar/list.asp no later than December 31.

Program:  Snowshoe Loaner Day: If there are at least 6 inches of snow on the ground, snowshoes will be available to borrow for use in the park (with a valid driver’s license) beginning at 9 AM and must be returned by 3 PM.  Contact us for more information.

Program:  Cross Country 101 ~ Have you always wanted to try cross-country skiing but just don’t know where to start?  Join a naturalist to learn some tips and tricks to get you skiing the trail.  Bring your own equipment or rent from the Presque Isle Ski Center located in Cabin #1 at the waterworks area.  Cost is free except for rental fee.  Meet at the Rotary Pavilion.

Program:  Join the fun and get fit on our Snowshoe Walk as we enjoy a morning outdoors looking for animal tracks, birds and winter weed identification. There will be a limited number of adult and children’s snowshoes available to borrow or bring your own. Please contact the park office to reserve your snowshoes. Dress for the weather and bring drinking water and binoculars.  No snow – join us for a nature walk.  Registration deadline January 6th. Come on out and enjoy the morning!
