Winter Trails Event Sites

Winter Trails is a collection of events at over 100 locations around the country that promote snowshoeing and cross country skiing.  The events are broken down into two categories, Anchor Sties and Affiliate Sites.

Anchor Sites

The Anchor Sites are generally larger snowshoe events that take place at select locations around the country.  The are supported by many of the equipment suppliers who bring demo equipment for attendees to try during the course of the day.  The event staff will help you put on the snowshoes and give yo a few tips to help you on your way to discovering the fitness and social benefits of this easy to learn winter sport.

If you already know how to snowshoe, Winter Trails events are great opportunities to test the different models of snowshoes and knowledgeable reps and staff will help you make sound buying decisions to bring to your local retailer.

The 2017 Anchor Sites are at the following locations:

  • ADK Winterfest, Lake Placid, NY - 1/7/17
  • Estes Park, CO - 1/14/17
  • Fort Snelling State Park, MN - 1/21/17
  • Weston, MA - 1/7/17

Winter Trails programs and activities vary in size and scope, as each venue chooses a program that will introduce these sports to their communities. Select the state or area to see the locations that are participating.

Affiliate Sites

Affiliate sites are smaller events entirely run by the local resort or event site.  These are generally more intimate events.  There are almost 100 of these events and they may be found under the find a site page here.
